This morning, at OpenAI’s Dev Day 2025, the company unveiled a major expansion of the ChatGPT ecosystem—transforming it into a full developer platform.
The new ChatGPT Apps framework lets developers embed interactive tools directly inside conversations, while AgentKit introduces a no-code environment for building and deploying AI agents in minutes—right within the chat. The long-awaited Codex has officially reached general availability on GPT-5-Codex, offering advanced code generation, refactoring, and orchestration capabilities. And for creators, the Sora 2 API now brings cinematic, synchronized audio-visual storytelling to life—opening a new chapter in generative media.
As Altman noted, “Software used to take months or years to build. Now, with AI, it can take minutes — and the future of building belongs to those who can imagine faster than they can code.”
