ChatGPT Adds Image Library for AI Creations

OpenAI is introducing a new feature in ChatGPT that gives users an easy way to access and revisit their AI-generated images. The update, called the Library, is now rolling out to all Free, Plus, and Pro users across mobile and web platforms.

In a post on X, OpenAI shared:

“All of your image creations, all in one place. Introducing the new library for your ChatGPT image creations—rolling out now to all Free, Plus, and Pro users on mobile and chatgpt.com.”

How It Works

A short demo video on X shows that the Library appears in the ChatGPT sidebar as a new section. Tapping it opens a grid layout of your previously generated images. A button at the bottom also allows users to create a new image directly from that view.

The update streamlines the experience for those using ChatGPT’s image generation tools regularly—especially for users creating themed art, prototypes, or visual references.

What This Means

The new Library gives ChatGPT users more control and convenience when working with AI-generated visuals. It marks a small but meaningful shift toward turning ChatGPT into a creative hub—not just a conversational tool.

As OpenAI continues to integrate more generative features, a centralized image view may become essential for workflows, archiving, and reusing content across projects.

AI tools are evolving beyond one-off outputs—they’re becoming creative ecosystems.
