Why Banning AI Backfires: A CISO Playbook for 2026
I sat down with Jeremy Ventura, Field CISO at Myriad360, to explore how CISOs should approach AI in 2026. Jeremy explains why blanket AI bans often increase risk, how “shadow AI” mirrors the shadow IT challenges of the past, and what security leaders can do to build AI policies that balance protection with business innovation.

Claude Will Remain Ad-Free: Why Anthropic Rejects Ads in AI Conversations - Anthropic has made a clear call on the future of AI monetization: Claude will remain ad-free. In a new blog post, the company explains why advertising doesn’t belong in AI conversations — and how incentives, trust, and user intent shape its design choices. The decision stands in contrast to ChatGPT’s ad experiments and highlights a growing divide in how AI tools are being built.
More AI Headlines (Curated by AiNews.com) — Other major stories making waves across the AI world today:
Elon Musk's SpaceX applies to launch 1m satellites into orbit - SpaceX kicked off February with a flurry of activity, from launching new Starlink satellites to unveiling their ‘Stargaze’ space-tracking system. While a recent upper-stage anomaly has led to a brief grounding of the Falcon 9, these updates show just how much the company is pushing the envelope as they prepare for a massive 2026.
Claude Goes to Mars: Anthropic Tests AI for Space Exploration - Anthropic showcases how Claude is being used to assist with simulated Mars exploration tasks, including reasoning through scientific questions and operational challenges. The project highlights how large language models could support future space missions — not as decision-makers, but as collaborative tools to help humans think through complex, high-stakes environments.
AI finds hundreds of never-before-seen 'cosmic anomalies' in old Hubble Telescope images - Researchers have used AI to analyze decades-old Hubble Space Telescope images, uncovering hundreds of previously undetected cosmic anomalies. The findings demonstrate how machine learning can extract new scientific insights from existing data — expanding discovery without launching new instruments.
AI Reimagines the American Revolution — Week by Week - Filmmaker Darren Aronofsky has released On This Day… 1776, a short-form historical series recreated with help from Google DeepMind. Each episode drops on the 250th anniversary of the events it depicts, reframing the American Revolution as an uncertain, unfolding struggle rather than an inevitable outcome. The project raises timely questions about how AI can be used to reinterpret history — and how storytelling changes when technology helps reconstruct the past.

Use ChatGPT’s Custom Instructions to Eliminate Generic AI Writing
In this guide, you’ll learn how to dramatically improve ChatGPT’s output by using Custom Instructions — an often-overlooked feature that lets you permanently set how ChatGPT thinks, writes, and responds to you across every conversation.
Instead of correcting tone, audience, and style in every prompt, you’ll define them once and let ChatGPT adapt automatically.
Step-by-step:
1. Open Custom Instructions in ChatGPT
Click your profile icon in the top-right corner of ChatGPT, then select Customize ChatGPT (or Custom Instructions, depending on your interface).
2. Define how ChatGPT should write for you
In the field that asks “How would you like ChatGPT to respond?”, paste clear guidance about:
Your preferred tone (e.g., newsroom-style, professional, conversational)
What to avoid (e.g., hype, clichés, filler phrases)
How much explanation you want
Whether you prefer structure, bullets, or narrative flow
Example instruction (you can customize this): Write clearly and concisely. Avoid generic AI phrases, marketing fluff, and unnecessary transitions. Prioritize accuracy, structure, and reader trust over speed or hype.
3. Add audience and context preferences
In the field that asks “What would you like ChatGPT to know about you?”, explain:
Who you write for
Your industry or role
Any recurring constraints (e.g., SEO needs, editorial standards, compliance)
This helps ChatGPT tailor explanations without over- or under-explaining.
4. Test the difference immediately
Ask ChatGPT a simple prompt you use often, such as: “Write a LinkedIn post announcing a new product feature.”
Compare the result before and after Custom Instructions are enabled. You should notice:
Less repetition
More consistent tone
Fewer “AI tells”
Less need for follow-up corrections
5. Refine once — benefit forever
You can update Custom Instructions anytime, but the goal is to get them mostly right so every future conversation starts from the same baseline.
