My Dear Bay Area Friends, and sex-Positive Community Members,

I have a dream... That one day sex workers will be safe from violence, and we will over cum, and cum and cum. Most of us spend many of our days celebrating life. On December 17, we will spend one day mourning-- and doing some sex worker rights activism and education, of course. As memorials go, this one promises to be wonderful.

There are three events planned in the Bay Area for the International Memorial Day To End Violence Against sex Workers. I want to let you know about them, as I suspect you might like to join us.

The brother of Opal Mills, one of Gary Ridgway's victims Garrett Mills wrote to us a few days ago. He said, "I was beginning to think people didn't care...My sister Opal is still very much missed by her family." He was so touched that we were doing this day of honoring.

We invite you to Bring candles, signs, related poems, songs, performances, a dance, statistics, news clippings, wishes, blessings, thoughts, or whatever moves you, to share with us if you want to. Or just show up. For those of us with a dramatic flair, we will be Dressing in Black On the Trampy Side, to entice a press photo op to help get our message out. We need to tell the world that we are outraged about the hate crimes against sex workers, and demand that sex workers be better protected so more violence and murder doesn't happen. I will be spending the day going to all three events and would love to see you. Everyone is welcome.

San Francisco 5pm-7pm Candlelight memorial followed by a reception in City Hall in the office of Supervisor Tom Ammiano. Civic Center Plaza (Corner of Polk and McAllister)
