With the development of Femme Chocolat, Royalle seeks to address the much neglected audience of ethnically diverse couples. "Afrodite Superstar" which was directed by Royalle and African American fledgling filmmaker Venus Hottentot, is the first ever adult film that sensitively addresses the needs of women of color.

New director Venus Hottentot chose her name in honor of the Hottentot Venus, a South African woman who was kidnapped and sexually exploited in the 19th century, "I wanted to create an intelligent and non-pornographic/ non-exploitive sex film that features characters of color and would be uplifting instead of degrading."
