Christmas: FlyntDigital Closed Dec 26
by: Company Press Release
Christmas-type mistletoe is a parasitic plant, that is, a plant that attaches itself to, and nurtures itself from, another living growth such as a tree, rather than rooting itself into the ground. It is possible the name originated from the Anglo-Saxon words for dung and twig, because of one way the seeds are spread - via the droppings of birds who consumed the plants' berries. Mistletoe rituals go back thousands of years when it was considered to have aphrodisiac and fertility powers.
Ok, so what does some purportedly sexually magical bloodsucking deadbeat of a plant proliferated by pooping fowl have to do with the birth of Christendoms savior? Pretty much nothing. There are several legends associated with kissing and holidays, too many, and in a couple cases, too protracted to explain here. So what the heck. Have the breath spray handy, pucker up, and hey, keep the tongue holstered and watch the groping.
In celebration of Christmas which falls on a Sunday this year, our offices will be closed Monday, December 26th. We will be e-mail accessible for any serious issues that may arise, but administrative concerns will be addressed upon staff return on Tuesday, December 27.
Whatever you celebrate at this time, may you and those you hold dear have the most joyous and meaningful of holiday seasons.
