ASACP Participating at Digital Coast Holiday Reception
Source: Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP)
by: Company Press Release

(LOS ANGELES, CA) -- Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) is honored to be included among the Participating Associations for the 7th Annual Digital Coast Holiday Reception; other associations include: Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences, Internet Society, Interactive Television Alliance, Larta Institute, National Association of Record Industry Professionals, the Software Council and Writers Guild of America.

The Digital Coast Roundtable (DCR) is an organization that focuses on the convergence of film, music, media and other industries and technology in the Digital Coast region (San Diego to Santa Barbara). In addition to senior executives, visionaries and leaders who come together to discuss opportunities and challenges and to share solutions, the DCR convenes organizations, associations and guilds to collaborate on events, initiatives and public policy (DigitalCoast.org).

"DCR events facilitate access to other associations, ideas, and the people who are responsible for how the adult industry is portrayed in movies and television. Because of the blurring lines in entertainment, it is important that mainstream companies are aware of how the industry uses technology to protect children and its Best Practices. I first attended DCR when I was the VP of Membership at an association of digital professionals. I found these events to be both educational, and a good way to meet and learn from a variety of people. We are all dealing with similar issues; One of ASACP's goal is to open the lines of communication." Joan Irvine, executive director, ASACP.

The ASACP mission is to help the adult entertainment industry in their ongoing efforts to battle CP on the Internet through its reporting hotline. In addition, ASACP provides a self-regulatory vehicle for its members through a Code of Ethics that promotes the protection of children through responsible, professional business practices (ASACP.org/bestpractices.html).

For further information, visit the ASACP site (ASACP.org) or contact Joan Irvine at Joan@ASACP.org.
