(LONDON) -- Daryl Hannah is to recreate one of Marilyn Monroe's most famous film roles on the London stage -- and she may follow fellow the lead of fellow Hollywood star Nicole Kidman and appear naked.

The Evening Standard reported that Hannah, famed as the mermaid in the box office hit ``Splash,'' is to take the lead in a stage version of ``The Seven Year Itch'' in which Monroe's white dress famously billowed up as she stood on a subway grate.

That scene will not be recreated. ``She won't be doing a Marilyn impersonation,'' said producer Laurence Myers who revealed, however, that Hannah could appear naked in a seduction scene.

``The scene in the play doesn't specify whether she takes off her nightclothes or if they stay on. It will up to Mike Radford (the director) and Daryl to decide what's appropriate,'' Myers said.

The play is to be launched in London on October 9.

Kidman caused a stir when she appeared naked in a West End production of ``The Blue Room.'' Kathleen Turner also shed her clothes when she played Mrs Robinson in a recent London production of ``The Graduate''
