(LOS ANGELES, CA) -- The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP.org) was the victim of a major email spoof attack on Sunday evening as were many innocent victims including children. ASACP is contacting the abuse and legal departments of all affected companies requesting the header information of the email sent to their customers, so that its forensic researchers can investigate and forward the information to the FBI.

If anyone has received this spoofed email or has additional information, please contact Joan@ASACP.org.

The spoofed email:

Our mailing address:
5042 Wilshire Blvd., #540
Los Angeles, CA 90036

Our email address:

You have 3 business days to contact us before we are forced to report you to your local authorities. Thank you for your time.

Joan Irvine, Executive Director
Association of Sites Advocating Child Porn (ASACP)

ASACP has been receiving many emails from terrified and confused adults and teenagers who have responded to the bogus email they received. Almost all responses have been that they don't visit adult websites and are concerned that if they unknowingly have CP on their systems, to know what they can do to get rid of it.

ASACP is advising people to send any suspected CP websites to the CP reporting page (ASACP.org/report.php) linked in the box to the right.

ASACP is the organization that helps the adult site industry make a difference in the battle against child pornography. In addition to its hotline, ASACP provides a self-regulatory vehicle for its members through a Code of Ethics that promotes the protection of children through responsible, professional business practices (ASACP.org/bestpractices.html) linked in the box to the right.

For further information visit the ASACP site (ASACP.org) or contact Joan Irvine, Joan@ASACP.org.
