ASACP Announces New Advisory Council Members
Source: Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP)
by: Company Press Release

(LOS ANGELES, CA) -- As any other nonprofit association, Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP.org) does not exist in a vacuum. It is aided in its efforts by an Advisory Council (AC) consisting of industry leaders who generously volunteer their time and expertise to help direct its efforts and resources. AC members represent different industry segments as it is important to obtain a variety of input on pertinent issues.

ASACP had two vacant positions on its AC. It was pleasantly overwhelmed by the number of people who offered their services - ASACP wants to thank everyone for their offer of support. The existing AC members decided on four people to interview. Each person brought an expertise that would help ASACP be positioned for 2005 and beyond. The AC was so impressed with each candidate that it was impossible to choose only two. Therefore, ASACP is pleased to announce that the following four people will be joining the Advisory Council:

Chris Jester, SplitInfinity Network
Holly Moss, Moss Consulting
Larry Paciotti aka Chi Chi LaRue, CCLR Internet
Scott Rabinowitz, TrafficDude

"I was pleased to be among several seasoned colleagues from the industry to have the opportunity to support ASACP in a long term and strategic manner. Consistent with their methods overall, in which ASACP supports and focuses on the needs of the many rather than the few, even the application process to be part of the Advisory Council focused on whether potentials could fit their ideas and methods into a group level brain trust. It was apparent that this organization operates with complete clarity of mission, across their staff, their supporters and sponsors, and most definitely their Advisory Council." Scott Rabinowitz, President, Traffic Dude

In the last three years, ASACP devoted its resources to building the necessary infrastructure to position it for growth in the number of reports received through its CP hotline in addition to developing new reporting and monitoring systems, membership programs and best practices. With these in place, the goals for 2005 are: (1) increased industry and mainstream visibility, and (2) augmented relationships with government agencies and mainstream associations. Therefore, it was necessary for the new AC members to have extensive public relations and communications expertise.

"I am truly honored to be involved in an organization that makes a difference in the on going battle against child pornography on the internet. I believe my experience and knowledge of PR and online marketing will help give ASACP the kind of attention and recognition it needs to achieve its goals and mission for 2005!" Holly Moss, President of Hmoss Consulting.

"I hope that my Very public alter ego and my longtime affiliation with both video and internet industries can send a message that one of the things both industries have in common with the mainstream is a hatred for child pornography!" Chi Chi LaRue

ASACP has dramatically improved its forensic investigation capabilities; however, it is important that ASACP keeps current about new technology and the various methods criminals use to distribute this horrific content. Therefore, it was necessary to have someone on the AC who was experienced in this area.

"When I was first introduced to ASACP I was pleasantly surprised to find an organization devoted to protecting children which was funded by the industry. I have been running SplitInfinity Networks for ten years, and during the process had become well acquainted with the nasty things that go on the internet. I have been responsible for shutting down well over 120 web sites engaged in crimes against children. This is why I jumped at the opportunity to join the ASACP Advisory Council." Chris Jester, President, SplitInfinity.

Chris, Holly, Larry and Scott join the existing AC members who have helped direct ASACP since 2003:

Michelle Freridge, Free Speech Coalition
Alec Helmy, XBiz
Tom Hymes, AVNOnline
Morgan Sommers, Cybersocket
Jeff Southworth, Epoch

ASACP is the organization that helps the adult site industry make a difference in the battle against child pornography. In addition to its hotline, ASACP provides a self-regulatory vehicle for its members through a Code of Ethics that promotes the protection of children through responsible, professional business practices (ASACP.org/bestpractices.html).

If you are one of the more than 5,700 sites that take a stand against child pornography by displaying the ASACP logo but are not a Sponsor or a recently signed-up Approved Member or Supporter, please take advantage of the new benefits. Visit the following page to join today: ASACP.com/membership_form.html
