Selena Silver Goes Hollywood

(LOS ANGELES, CA) -- AVN Award-nominated starlet Selena Silver adds another milestone to her resume this February - mainstream actress. Silver is appearing in a cameo role, playing herself, in a new horror film by cult movie director William Winckler.
The film - yet to be titled - is a homage to the classic black and white Universal-style monster movies of the 1940's. It stars Larry Butler (Lost in the USA, Elvis is Alive) and Gary Canavello, with appearances by Butch Patrick (the Munsters), Lloyd Kaufman (the Toxic Avenger, Terror Firmer),Raven De LA Criox (Russ Myer's Up!, Hear No Evil), David Gerrold (Star Trek), Playboy Model Carla Harvey, and the 2003 Cyberspace Adult Video Review (CAVR) Starlet of the Year Selena Silver. Filming begins February 14.
"I play myself in the movie," the Australian-born Silver explains, "which is very exciting from a career standpoint. It will be fun to hear myself introduced as Selena Silver in a mainstream film."
In the key climax of the movie Silver is making a dance appearance at a strip club when the monster makes his most daring attack. "If you want to find out if I fall victim to the fate of most naked girls in horror films", Silver laughs, "You will have to watch the movie!"
Horror fans can expect to see a number of classic-style creatures. Special effects experts Rich Knight and Rufus Hearn, who have worked on such productions as Spider-Man, Men in Black, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Fear Runs Silent, are crafting all the costumes and makeup effects.
Director/Producer William Winckler is best known for his sexy, action-comedy film "The Double-D Avenger" - a movie Variety hailed as a "cheerfully silly ode to larger than life femininity - starring famous Russ Meyer film actresses Kitten Natividad, Haji, and Raven De LA Croix. Winckler contacted Silver last year and asked if she would audition for his next film. She auditioned in December and walked away with the part.
"Selena has a wonderful, sexy look... very unique", Winckler said. "I needed the best actress for a very important role, and I thought if I want a girl who can bring genuine sex appeal to the screen in a role where she has to dance, strip, and act I should find a professional. Selena was the girl I wanted."
Selena Silver has appeared in more than 50 adult film titles since entering the industry in 2003. She was double AVN Award-nominated last year for Best Oral sex Scene - Video, once for her hard-edged three-way with Jake Malone and Tony T. In Red Light District's Throat Gaggers 6, and again for her over-the-top two-on-one with Brandon Iron and Katrina Kraven in Zero Tolerance's Blow Me Sandwich 5. She was named the 2003 Cyberspace Adult Video Review (CAVR) Starlet of the Year and her directing debut Selena Silver at Home was named the 2004 CAVR Adult DVD Feature of the Year.
