(SCOTTSDALE, AZ) -- Propelled by positive reviews and a nationwide book tour, How to Make Love Like a Porn Star: A Cautionary Tale, the sizzling memoir by adult entertainment legend Jenna Jameson will debut September 5th at number nine on the New York Times non-fiction bestseller list, a monumental achievement for the adult industry superstar.
How to Make Love Like a Porn Star: A Cautionary Tale, from ReganBooks/HarperCollins, went on sale Aug. 17th in bookstores and on her website at ClubJenna.com. Immediately it became one of the top selling books on Amazon.com and BarnesandNobel.com.
Ms. Jameson launched her book tour on publication day with an appearance on the Howard Stern Show in which Stern referred to her as "The Babe Ruth of porn." Capacity crowds turned up for book signings in New York City, Miami, Cleveland, Lexington KY, Chicago and San Francisco. She is in Los Angeles today for media appearances and a signing at 7 pm Thursday at Book Soup (8818 Sunset Blvd.). She will wind up in Las Vegas for more press interviews, a book signing on Friday at Virgin MegaStore (Caesar's Palace Forum Shops, 3500 Las Vegas Blvd. So. - M1) and a private wrap up party at the Hard Rock Cafe' on Saturday night.
Meanwhile, reviews of the book have been positive. Entertainment Weekly called the book "fascinating" and Newsweek said that "Like Saint Augustine and Bill Clinton--though not in their spirit of repentance--Jameson has written her autobiography.as you'd expect, it's chock full of oh-my-God tidbits, from revelations about Marilyn Manson's anatomy to stories of crude come-ons from Bruce Willis and Wesley Snipes." Maxim Online said that "This stark confessional of how a susceptible Las Vegas cheerleader separates herself from a pack of eager strippers, cons her way into Cannes as an E! correspondent, and winds up as the franchise player for a rising adult film distributor makes a gratifying read."
