Wicked Pictures Congratulates Their 2004 AVN Award Nominees

(LOS ANGELES, CA) -- Adult Video News has posted its 2004 AVN Awards nominations, and industry leader Wicked Pictures is pleased to announce that it has received 72 mentions, plus Hall of Fame inductions for two of its contract performers.
Michael Raven's acclaimed Beautiful garnered 14 nominations, including Best Video Feature, Best Director - Video, and Best Actress - Video (Julia Ann), followed by Jonathan Morgan's Space Nuts, which captured 13 nominations, including Best Sex Comedy, Best Director - Video, and Best Actor - Video (Evan Stone). Morgan also received a Best Video Feature nod for Not a Romance.
Brad Armstrong's Improper Conduct received a total of nine noms, including Best Video Feature, Best Director - Video, and Best Actress - Video for Devinn Lane, who also received the coveted Female Performer of the Year nomination. Devinn also received recognition as a filmmaker in her own right, with a Best Continuing Video Series nod going to the Devinn Lane Show.
In addition to Devinn and Julia Ann, Sydnee Steele, Stormy, and Kaylani Lei also received noms for Best Actress - Video, and jessica drake, Devinn, Sydnee, and Stormy received Best Supporting Actress - Video recognition as well. In an exciting twist, both Stormy and Kaylani received AVN nods for Best New Starlet.
Wicked's award-winning DVD division continued its winning streak by snaring nine nominations, including Best DVD for both Space Nuts and the digital debut of Hercules. Space Nuts was also nominated for Best DVD Extras and Best DVD Menus.
Wicked Pictures' commitment to excellence in presentation was acknowledged with a Best VHS Packaging nom for Porn Star, Best Boxcover Concept nods to both Jenna Jameson's Wicked Anthology Vol. 1, and Angel X, and a Best DVD Packaging nomination for Space Nuts.
In addition to the 72 nominations, two of Wicked's contract stars, Brad Armstrong and Julia Ann, were inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame, and Video Marc Dorcel starlet Melanie Coste, whose films are distributed in the United States exclusively by Wicked, received a nomination for Female Foreign Performer of the Year. Company President and Owner Steve Orenstein is pleased with his company's representation in the nominations. "I am proud of all our people and the high calibre of product they have created. I'm pleased with the depth of the nominations, that they are spread over nineteen of our movies, nine of our contract players, and 36 categories."
