Vivid Interactive To release New Mature DVD with Multi-Angles

(VAN NUYS, CA) -- Vivid Interactive has announced the release of Jenna's Playhouse, a new mature-themed DVD starring contract girl Jenna Jameson that, according to the company, is the first to feature true multi-angle features.
"On the stuff that we shoot for Virtual Vivid, the line we do the multi-angles on, we do it with three Beta Sp cams, usually with one on a big 60-foot jib. It's a huge endeavor it's not an easy cut-and-paste kind of approach," Jim Monroe, VP of Vivid Interactive, told AVN.com. "We've been really successful with the Virtual Vivid series, and no company had ever done mature and by mature we mean non-triple-X Playboy-esque titles featuring just stripping and nudity that we sell to places like Musicland that can't carry the triple-X stuff. No one had ever done a true multi-angle mature title before, so as far as we know, this is the world's first one."
Monroe, who notes that Vivid was the first to do multi-angle scenes, says it's their technique of shooting them that sets their product apart from the rest.
"We actually shoot the movie with three separate cameras like we do with our multi-angle titles, and there's a handful of other companies that do that as well, but sometimes people just cut up existing footage that gives you a different look at the action," he explains. "Really, it's a different edit it's not a different angle, the difference being whether or not it's seamless. If you click the button to go to angle two and you're seeing the same action from another point of view as opposed to just being a different edit of the same scene, that's not multi-angle."
In addition to multi-angles, Jenna's Playhouse includes behind-the-scenes footage of making the DVD, bloopers, interviews, info on Jameson's website and a sizeable photo gallery.
As for future multi-angle mature titles, Monroe is taking a wait-and-see approach.
"Obviously it's expensive to do DVDs this way, but we figured if we're going to do a super high echelon mature title, we'll do it with the best technology, and the best names in the business," Monroe says. "But we're going to see how this goes. The feedback from the buyers [who purchase these titles] has been tremendous, so as long as the average guy who goes in there and plops down his hard earned bucks likes it, you'll be seeing a lot of them on the shelf."
Jenna's Playhouse will be released in the next 7 10 days.
