Vivid DVD Sends Tower Records Instore Display Contest Winners to Cancun

Winners of the latest Tower Records in store display contest enjoyed a vacation in Cancun, Mexico. Vivid Interactive returned to Cancun with 10 well-deserved winners of the recent contest held in over 76 Tower locations. This year the competition was especially fierce and harder than ever to choose the winners. Over forty runner-ups received 27 Sony television sets and the grand prizewinners were treated to a 5-day 4-night stay in sunny Cancun, Mexico.
Camp Vivid Interactive lead the group in many planned events including horseback riding on the white sands of Cancun, speed boat tours and snorkeling in the jungle lined waters of the Cancun marina and deep sea fishing in the blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
Vivid Interactive Vice President, Jim Monroe joined the group for the trip in the sun and judging by his tan, the golf must have been good. When we asked about the trip he only said a giant Iguana swiped my ball on the Cancun Hilton course, I knew right then we were in Mexico. The Tower employees also enjoyed the Cancun nightlife with nightly adventures to the tourist hotspots LA Boom, Coco Bongo, Senior Frogs with fine dinning at the Crab House and other local favorites.
Now that prizes have been awarded the next contest is already in the works. Monroe said the across the counter sales for Vivid DVD in the Tower locations were up 56% during the contest. This contest works really well for us and reaps huge benefits for the stores as well & during this contest we shipped (Tower) more product than in any other single month to date.
The stores are becoming more competitive with the displays resulting in grander efforts that translate into even more sales. A hard act to follow will be store #185 in Seattle. Who blacked out the entire front windows of the store, except for the cut out of the Vivid DVD logo. We tip our hat to the incredible effort put by all of our Tower partners.
