(LOS ANGELES, CA) -- The Fox station’s news bureau has stepped forward and will make Fox the first television network to air greetings from the Adult Industry to Us Troops deployed worldwide. Adult Industry leaders, Sin City Films, AVN Magazine and the Erotic Network, gathered the messages earlier this month at the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas.
The greetings are scheduled to air Thursday, January 31, 2002 on “the Fox Report” (4:00PM PST/7:00PM EST). The greetings came to the attention of Fox News from an article posted on the Cybercast News Service (cnsnews.com), which went into detail on how Armed Forces Radio & Television was reluctant to air greetings gathered by the adult industry. Sensing a newsworthy story, Fox’s News Bureau requested a copy of the greetings and will air them this evening.
Sin City spokesperson Scott Stein who was contacted by Fox explained, “Fox genuinely seemed empathetic to the bureaucratic wall that the adult industry had hit and was gracious enough to give us a forum to be heard. We just hope that other stations across the country will also step-up and allow these genuine and heartfelt well-wishes to be broadcast.”
In the CNS article, an AFRT spokesperson is quoted as saying, “We follow a standard, which is broadcast standard, which means if it is seen over the air in the United States, that is the standard to which we adhere. That is the programming that we broadcast." Stein hopes that the Fox broadcast will change some minds AFRT, “Obviously, Fox News follows the same broadcast standard that AFRT does. With the greetings airing on Fox, I would hope that the “powers that be” at AFRT would have a change of heart. Again, if there is one industry that recognizes the liberties and freedoms that this country affords, it is the Adult Industry. We just want to tell those people that are defending those freedoms, ‘Thank you!’
Aside from the Fox broadcast, the greetings are scheduled be broadcast via TEN (the Erotic Networks) and Sin City’s website www.sincityfilms.com. For additional information and/or interviews contact Scott Stein at Sin City Films @ 818.407.9990 or 310.837.5069.
