Joey And Carlo's Palm Springs Pool Party; A Benefit For AIM

(PALM SPRINGS, CA) -- Joey and Carlo Productions (http://joeyandcarlo.com) have put together one hot benefit in Palm Springs, September 22nd, 2001. All proceeds of the Pool Party will go to the Adult Industry Medical Health Care Foundation (AIM). A registered nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the area's adult industry community since 1998. AIM provides medical services, testing, treatment and support to many of the sex workers and porn actors we work with.
The party will be held between 1pm and 10 pm at the CAMP Palm Springs Resort (http://www.camp-palm-springs.com). The party's theme is the Military, so plan on bringing your fatigues. *A bus will take any party guest in need of transportation from Los Angeles to Palm Springs. The bus will leave from West Hollywood promptly at 10:00 am with direct route to CAMP Palm Springs. Bus again will take party guests back to West Hollywood at 11:30 am. The bus fee is $5 each way.

The Adult Industry Medical (AIM) Health Care Foundation is a non-profit corporation formed to care for the physical and emotional needs of sex workers and people who work in the adult entertainment industry through our HIV and STD testing and treatment, our counseling services and our support group programs. We are happy to be serving the sex worker community and our goal is to provide health care for the body, mind, emotion and spirit, as well as to take a leadership position in promoting safe and responsible sexual behavior, not only for the adult entertainment industry, but for everyone.
AIM was co-founded in 1998 by the legendary Miss Sharon Mitchell, a glamorous porn star who has appeared in over 2,000 films, and who has won every award that the adult entertainment industry offers, including the 1999 Adult Video News highest honor "The Special Achievement Award" for her commitment to AIM and the ongoing crises in the adult business. "Rarely," writes Paul Fishbein, Publisher of AVN, "have we seen someone so dedicated, selfless and hard working... all for a common good. Your work has been an inspiration to everyone."
Miss Mitchell and Dr. Steven York, Medical Director of AIM, created AIM as well as a trusted physician who is highly regarded throughout the industry.
In addition to HIV-related services, AIM also provides condoms, testing and treatment for other sexually transmitted diseases, pap smears, psychiatric assessment, drug and alcohol counseling, cosmetic surgery information, chiropractic healing and support groups such as a Relationships Group, Abuse Survivors Group, Women of Porn and other special educational workshops.
Since we opened our doors in 1998, AIM has provided training as Chemical Dependency Counselors (certified!) for two former sex workers and certified phlebotomy tech training for ten sex workers that are now working for AIM or the community at large.
