(LOS ANGELES, CA) -- Canoga Park-based adult industry powerhouse Wicked Pictures is pleased to announce that the company and product lines it distributes have been honored with over 150 2013 Adult Video News (AVN) nominations.
While many of the accolades speak to the variety and quality of Wicked’s in-house productions, the rest recognize the excellence of lines like jessica drake’s Guide to Wicked Sex, Wicked Passions, Video Marc Dorcel, JoyBear Pictures, Abby Winters and Burning Angel Entertainment. The nominations also pay tribute to Wicked's expanding Internet presence and the successful launch of the Wicked Sensual Care Collection.
Brad Armstrong's many nominations reflected the high quality of his output as a writer, director, performer and art director. His filmmaking was honored with nominations for Best Director (Body of Work), Best Director - Parody (Men In Black: A Hardcore Parody), Best Director - Feature (Countdown) and Best Director Non-Feature (The Craving II). His on-camera work earned both acting and sex scene nominations, including Best Non-Sex Performance for actor/director Marcus London’s Spartacus MMXII: The Beginning (produced by London Gunn Films / Miko Lee Productions, distributed by Wicked). The Armstrong-directed Octomom Home Alone, produced by DD Entertainment and distributed by Wicked, received several high-profile nominations, including Best Celebrity Sex Tape.
Stormy Daniels' explosive South Florida crime thriller Blow earned the crossover actress / filmmaker both Best Director and Best Writer nominations. These were just two of the twelve honors recognizing such projects as Happy Endings (Best Actress Gracie Glam, Best Actor Brendon Miller, Best Romance Release) and Snatched (Best Actress Kaylani Lei, Best Comedy). Thanks to jessica drake’s Guide to Wicked Sex, the titular writer, director, host, actress, performer, and activist earned several nominations, including Best Educational Release for each installment of her series released this year – Female Masturbation, The G-Spot & Female Ejaculation, and Threesomes - Every Man’s Fantasy. She received recognition in the Director of the Year (Body of Work) category as well, while her media savvy and commitment to social justice were recognized with a Crossover Star of the Year nomination.
In addition to her Best Actress nomination, Kaylani Lei’s Brad Armstrong-directed Asian Anal Assassins saw her garnering consideration in the Best All-Girl Group Sex Scene category. Alektra Blue came on strong in the sex scene categories and more, including a Best Actress nomination for her entertaining Katy Perry homage Next Friday Night. The latest young lady to join the ranks of the Wicked Girls™, Samantha Saint, was nominated Female Performer of the Year.
Over twenty of the company’s in-house productions received high-profile nominations, with Armstrong’s Men In Black: A Hardcore Parody leading the pack with fifteen major accolades. Marcus London’s Spartacus MMXII: The Beginning followed with thirteen nominations, while European director Max Candy's Inglorious Bitches (produced by Video Marc Dorcel, distributed by Wicked) earned six. Thanks in part to the efforts of directors like Jonathan Morgan, the year also saw Wicked reaffirming its status as one of the industry’s top creators of adult comedies, with no less than four in-house productions gracing the Best Sex Comedy category. Morgan’s Busty Invaders from Mars earned the triple threat writer, director and editor nominations in all three areas, while Barrett Blade, a frequent director for the company, received a Best Director - Non Feature nomination for Jessie Rogers: Unbreakable.
Burning Angel Entertainment earned over thirty nominations, including Best Comedy (Asphyxia Heels the World) and Best Director - Parody (Joanna Angel, Fuckenstein). Among the overseas lines distributed by Wicked, France’s Video Marc Dorcel received over twenty nominations, including Best Foreign Feature mentions for such titles as The Journalist and The Bodyguard. Abby Winters was honored with several nominations recognizing the popular Girl Girl Hardcore and Intimate Moments franchises, while the innovative JoyBear Pictures titles Man Trap: Apply Within and Rosa each received multiple accolades.
