Myles' Weekend Adventures: Comic Book Live (Twice), PSK, Drunkards & Dragons, Glory Stories
Bonjour mon amis! Comment ca va? Myles Shaffer here. When writing and submitting my 8th Anniversary Column, I suffered a temporary brain fart, and I forgot to mention that the column was actually a little bit ahead of schedule. The anniversary date of my column is actually August 18. However, I knew that if I waited another week for my anniversary column, due to a few different circumstances, it would not get published until a couple of weeks after the fact.
By the time this column has been completed and published, the Exotic Dancer Gentlemen's Club Owners Expo 20 Year Reunion will almost certainly have come and gone. However, let us not forget about the Miss Nude 2012 Contest that is scheduled to be held at Wild J's Gentlemen's Club, in Canute, Oklahoma, September 27, 28, and 29. Not only will there be beautiful women there to compete in the contest, but Tony Batman is scheduled to be there with the Screaming 'O' Show!
Okay good people, please read on to see just what it is that I have been up to lately.
Comic Book Live (Green Lantern)
Saturday night, August 18, I went to the iO Improv Theater, in Hollywood, to check out, "Comic Book Live," for the first time ever. (Each performance of, "Comic Book Live," is based on a different comic book series. On this night, it was, "The Green Lantern.)
This performance was hosted by Chris Gore of, "Attack of the Show," and the special guest was adult film star and Playboy Radio personality Nicki Hunter
They did something new and different with this performance in that they made Nicki a part of the cast. As it turned out, Nicki even has a Green Lantern costume.
At different times during the show, Chris and Nicki would have a conversation from which the rest of the cast would glean things to work with. This was what would be expected from a guest storyteller especially during performances of, "Glory Stories." But after the conversation period, Nicki would act as a member of the cast.
Before the show, Nicki expressed a mild concern about not knowing how she would do and stated that she was not a comedian after all. When the show was over and the dust had settled so-to-speak, Nicki had done a fine job, and she managed to get her fair share of good laughs from the audience!
The cast for this performance of the show consisted of: Brandon Barrick, Tommy Bechtold, Zach Huddleston, Markeia McCarty, Patrick Ian Moore, Dustin Sterling, and Canon Wing.
"Comic Book Live," was a lot of fun and a barrel of laughs. In fact, I don't believe this will be the only time I go to see the show.
Tuesday evening, August 21, the plan was to go hang out at Sardo's Lounge & Grill, in Burbank, for a couple of hours to see who might show up for Porn Star Karaoke Club.
About the time I should have been getting ready, I fell asleep in front of the television. When I woke up about an hour and a half later, I thought, ah to heck with it. Then, about an hour after that, I thought, what the heck, I think I'll emulate a very famous male adult film star and show up about an hour before closing time. So up the stairs I charged to take a fast shower and throw on some fresh clothes.
I finally arrived at Sardo's a few minutes after 1AM, and the first person I saw was Adam Wood standing outside speaking with another gentlemen.
Adam made a joke about me showing up so late and told me that most of the industry people had already left. As it turned out, he wasn't kidding. However, he did point out a beautiful young blonde who was hanging out with a few other young people several feet away and told me what he thought her name was.
So, I walked over to the blonde and introduced myself. Adam was right about who she was. Therefore, I finally had the extreme pleasure of meeting adult film starlet and LA Direct Models client Siri.
Siri then introduced me to Rachel DeHaven. Rachel is an adult photo model.
Getting back to Siri, according to her information on LADirectModels.com, she is five feet nine inches tall, weighs one hundred fifty-five pounds and her measurements are 32HH-28-38. As I previously stated, Siri's hair is currently blonde. I'm not certain what Siri's eye color might be, the lighting was rather dim and I didn't think to ask about her physical statistics, but based on a few photos I have seen of her, I would venture to guess that her eyes are a light brown, or maybe hazel.
As I was walking back to the door to enter the building, I was lucky enough to come across Lucky Star just before she left for the evening.
Once inside the building, the only other industry people I saw were Connie, as always, and Mika Tan.
Since Nicki Hunter was in Florida feature dancing, Mika was graciously filling in and doing a fine job!
At one point during the short time I was inside Sardo's, a young man noticed my press badge and came over to ask me about it. It turned out that he was from Chicago, and he mentioned how much fun he had been having during the evening. He commented about how great is was to be there hanging around with a bunch of adult entertainment people. He also commented that what few adult film stars there were from the Chicago area are always out here in southern California working; therefore, it is very hard to ever run into any adult industry people in his city. (I suppose those of us who live in or near Los Angeles can consider ourselves lucky in that respect.)
Drunkards & Dragons
Friday night, August 24, it was off to the iO West Improv Theater, again, for a double dose of fun and laughter.
I started the evening off by observing, "Drunkards & Dragons," which on this night starred: Breon Bliss, Colin Hughes, Ryan Marsico, Leeann St. John, Markeia McCarty, Justin Michael-Terry, Gian Molina, and Mike Schramm.
This was my first time to see, "Drunkards & Dragons," and it was a lot of fun. The cast did a great job and provided the audience with barrels of laughter!
After the, "Drunkards & Dragons," show had ended, I when out front for some of Los Angeles' lame idea of fresh air and some good conversation with Francisco the doorman and anybody else that was willing to chat with me. After all, I had two hours to kill before I went back in to observe, "Glory Stories."
The show was once again opened by the, "Lusty Horde." This time around, the, "Lusty Horde," starred: Brian O'Connell, Kevin McShane, and Dave Park.
Brian, Dave, and Kevin were very funny, as they always are!
On this night, "Glory Stories," was hosted by the Gentlemen's Club's Caleb Bacon and featured the legendary Nina Hartley and adult film director Ernest Greene.
The, "Glory Stories," cast for this performance consisted of comedic shining stars: Tommy Bechtold, Peter Fluet, Josh Mattingly, Patrick Ian Moore, Neil Ruddy, and Canon Wing.
The people involved with this performance of, "Glory Stories," did a fantastic job as always!
All-in-all, this was a great evening filled with wonderful people and tons of great laughs!
Comic Book Live (Ghost in the Shell)
Saturday evening, August 25, I again returned to the iO West Improv Theater, in Hollywood, to observe and enjoy another performance of Comic Book Live.
For this particular performance, the cast starred, Tommy Bechtold, Peter Fluet, Markeia McCarty, Patrick Ian Moore, and Canon Wing.
The special guest star for this performance was none other than the beautiful adult film star Justine Joli!
Once again, all of the performers did a great job of provided lots of fun and laughter for the audience!
And that will be a wrap for now. Let's all meet back here the next time to learn what all transpired during the Exotic Dancer Gentlemen's Club Owners Expo 20 Year Reunion and related events. Until then, everybody stay safe, have a great week, and live life as if there were no tomorrow!
Bonsoir et au revoir,
