Lebowski XXX Screens Publicly

(CHATSWORTH, CA) -- On March 30, the University of British Columbia Film Society will be screening "The Big Lebowski: A XXX Parody" as a part of the organization’s special adult film screenings. The school holds a traditional annual beer garden screening of the original, "The Big Lebowski" so there was obvious interest in taking it a step further with the adult parody.
"The Big Lebowski: A XXX Parody" will screen this Friday, March 30 at the Norm Theatre in Vancouver, Canada at 7:30pm. Prior to the screening, there will be group discussion about the role of pornography in society, its acceptance (or lack thereof), the phenomenon of porn parody, and its place in mainstream theatres.

Vancouver has lost many of its independent theatres, which is why this event is especially exciting for theatre goers.
Alex Poutiainen, an executive with the UBC Film Society says, "Having a full house of people laughing and blushing together is an experience that chain theatres and downloading can't offer." He goes on to add, "We're excited to screen a big-budget adult parody of the classic cult film (the Big Lebowski) because it’s a unique event that you can't get anywhere else."
Since the adult film hit the markets almost two years ago, it’s received an overwhelming amount of mainstream media attention. ABC News featured "The Big Lebowski: A XXX Parody" in a story spotlighting the cult status of the Coen Brothers’ 1998 movie. While it took years for the original to develop into a retail success, "The Big Lebowski: A XXX Parody" was an immediate hit.
