Wicked's 40+ XBIZ Noms

(LOS ANGELES, CA) -- Nominations for the 2012 XBIZ Awards have been announced, and Canoga Park-based adult industry powerhouse Wicked Pictures is pleased to report that the company and the lines it distributes have received over forty major accolades.
Already an XBIZ Editor’s Choice, director Sam Hain’s spectacular deep space thriller Horizon led the way for the company with twelve nominations. The innovative epic’s breathtaking special effects, solid performances, outstanding production values and exciting action sequences were recognized with such coveted accolades as Feature Movie of the Year, Director of the Year (Individual Project), Acting Performance of the Year (for jessica drake) and Marketing Campaign of the Year (Individual Project). Filmmaker Brad Armstrong’s hit satire the Rocki Whore Picture Show: A Hardcore Parody was similarly honored; the musical comedy's nine nominations included accolades for Parody of the Year, Director of the Year (Individual Project), Best Cinematography and Best Art Direction.
In other categories, writer-director-performer Stormy Daniels’ excellent release Girlfriend for Hire was honored with an Acting Performance of the Year nomination (for Rocco Reed), while her first title for the new Wicked Passions line, Heart Strings, received a nomination for Couples Themed release of the Year. Another Wicked Passions release, Brad Armstrong’s a Touch of Seduction, received nominations for both Couples Themed release of the Year and All-Black release of the Year. Fittingly, Armstrong was also honored with a nomination for Director of the Year (Body of Work).
And speaking of the company’s exciting new product lines, writer-director-producer-host jessica drake’s informative sexual wellness series jessica drake’s Guide to Wicked Sex was honored with a Specialty release of the Year nomination (for jessica drake’s Guide to Wicked Sex: Anal). The glamorous Wicked Girl was also recognized with three accolades that spoke to the richness of her career – Crossover Star of the Year, Porn Star Site of the Year and Female Performer of the Year. And Wicked Pictures was recognized with three major studio nominations – Studio of the Year, Feature Studio of the Year, and Studio Site of the Year (www.wickedpictures.com).
Other lines distributed by the company, including Video Marc Dorcel, Abby Winters, and JoyBear Pictures, all received major nominations, with Dorcel receiving no less than six — including European Studio of the Year.
Reflecting on his company’s performance in 2011, Wicked Pictures President and Owner Steve Orenstein appreciates the diversity of the XBIZ nominations.
