(CAIRO) -- Police arrested a lawyer who stripped naked then set fire to his clothes outside Cairo's supreme court in protest at what he called a conspiracy to strip him of success, police sources said Monday.

The lawyer said after his arrest Sunday he believed colleagues had connived to strip him of victory in all his cases by using loopholes in the law, leaving him no other means to seek justice.

Police later released the disillusioned barrister after a fellow lawyer told them he was suffering from depression and pledged to provide him with treatment.
