Exotic World will be hosting the annual Striptease Reunion & Miss Exotic World Contest on June 2, 2001 at 2:00 PM and awarding $600 in cash prizes, trophies and gifts. Richard Stamberg will present a fabulous collection of Sally Rand memorabilia. Guests include: Tempest Storm, Cherry Malone, Kitten De Ville, Stephanie Blake, Kitty Diggins & Go-Go Au Go-Go Girls, Toni Alessandrini, Pepper Sands & The Cherry Tarts, The Kantankerous Lollies, and many more. Ticket prices are $15 single admission, and $25 per couple.

Dixie Evans, The Marilyn Monroe of Burlesque, is a dedicated historian preserving the memories of her art form as curator of EXOTIC WORLD - Home of the Movers & Shakers - Burlesque Hall of Fame & Historical Museum, which is open daily 10 am - 4 pm at 29053 Wild Road, Helendale, California 92342. The museum holds treasures of an era that many of us can only imagine. We feel that it is necessary to support Exotic World for it is a valuable part of American history that should never be forgotten!

Inside the museum you may view hundreds of photos of dancers from days gone by. Lily St. Cyr, Tempest Storm, The Eye-Ful Tower, and Dixie Evans are among the hundreds of dancers represented. Jewelry and G-strings are framed, as are Sally Rand's shoes. Discover how the museum was established and about The Bazoom Girl, Jennie Lee (who was the founder of Exotic World). Some of the costumes and photos date back to the 18th Century.

Dixie Evans shares many stories and colorful tales about her career, and admits those were the days when every dancer knew what it took to get noticed as they realized the importance of having a good gimmick. Dixie Evans stated, "We tried to be somebody and do the best we could because it was show business, not just business."
