(MOBILE, AL) -- Mobile County's school system is embroiled in a convoluted debate over bands' and majorettes' performance on the football field and during parades.

One faction says the dance routines are blatantly suggestive and some of the tunes played contain offensive lyrics.

The schools' administrators and county school board are working on a compromise that allows the youngsters to kick up their heels in a "refined way".
