Fallen Five Remembered at XRCO

''The 'truth' is that it has always been an 'honor' to be listed as one of the founders of the X-Rated Critics Organization,'' stated William Margold, who, for various reasons, was not planning to attend the 25th anniversary on Thursday evening at the Hollywood Highlands.
''But with the tragic passing of Marilyn Chambers a few days ago, plus the fact that four other XRCO Hall of Famers--- Buck Adams, Gerard Damiano, Ron ('Henri Pachard') Sullivan and Jack Wrangler--- all died since the last XRCO, I felt the urge to adhere to the XRCO's motto: 'Do it Right.' So I will be where I belong, at the door, letting the modern generation of Xers as well as those from the Golden Era know that 'there is no future if in the present we fail to pay homage to the past,''' Announced Margold, who is acknowledged to be the Adult Entertainment Industry's most respected Historian.
''Back in 1988, I told XRCO co-founder Jim Holliday (who died in 2004), when, in his capacity as the Historian, he was having to deal with the death of John C. Holmes, I certainly didn't envy the misery that he was going through, and he said to me, 'One day it will be your turn.'''
Margold, who is featured regularly on Playboy Radio, has a monthly column in Swank, and creates a weekly column for the LA Xpress, continued. ''I thought about preparing some kind of special display featuring 'The Fallen Five' or perhaps lighting five memorial candles by the XRCO entrance, but instead I think it would be a great deal more sincere to simply be there, ready to act upon one of Protecting Adult Welfare's most endearing mottos---'Hug is a Very Important Three Letter Word,'' Margold concluded.
