The topic of the high-profile interviews was Ms. Daniels' reaction to the controversial efforts of her supporters at www.draftstormy.com to encourage her to run for the U.S. Senate seat of David Vitter, the embattled Louisiana senator who faces re-election in 2010.

No stranger to controversy himself, Vitter became a fixture of the pop culture zeitgeist in 2007 when he was famously implicated in connection with the investigation of infamous ''D.C. Madam'' Deborah Jeane Palfrey. The office Stormy may seek has been held by Vitter since 2004.

In response to the efforts to draft her into the 2010 US Senate Race, Ms. Daniels issued the following statement this morning through publicist Craig Melone: ''I am honored and admittedly surprised by the encouragement that I am receiving to enter the race for the United States Senate from Louisiana.
