(LOS ANGELES, CA) -- The Dr. Susan Block Institute is thrilled to announce the Tenth Annual Eros Day Celebration, Saturday, January 24th 2009, at Dr. Suzy's Speakeasy in the Soul of Downtown LA.
Eros Day X will be an ''Orgy for Obama'' Inaugural Ball celebrating hope for a new era of peace-through-pleasure politics and an end to anti-sex militarism in America and around the world, at the climax of a week of balls honoring the historic Presidential Inauguration of Barack Obama.
Traditionally, Eros Day honors Eros, the primeval god of love, lust and life itself according to classical mythology, and a little phallic planetoid according to modern astronomy, as well as the ''Spirit of Eros'' - the idea of passionate love and peace through pleasure. Ancient Greek festivals of Eros date back to 1800 BCE. In the 1990's, Italian Father of Modern European Porn Lasse Braun developed the current holiday and passed it on to sexologist Susan M. Block, PhD, who began hosting annual celebrations drawing hundreds of participants, while thousands more share in the festivities on DrSusanBlock.com, and others watch on cable TV. The holiday of Eros Day is celebrated on the fourth Saturday night of January when the planetoid 433-Eros spins closest to Earth.
