LAEFF to Debut LLIK Your Idols

(LOS ANGELES, CA) -- Los Angeles Erotica Film Fest is honored to announce the west coast premiere of LLIK Your Idols, directed by Angélique Bosio. This provocative documentary will close the Los Angeles Erotica Film Fest and features iconic artists Richard Kern, Nick Zedd, Thurston Moore, Lydia Lunch, Joe Coleman, Richard Hell, plus other luminaries of the "Cinema of Transgression" movement. LAEFF’s exclusive screening runs Sept.16, 2007, at 4 pm located at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood, CA.
LAEFF has the distinct pleasure of screening a showcase of films created by the featured artists, notably Bruce LA Bruce and Nick Zedd of the Cinema of Transgression, preceding the LLIK Your Idols premiere. Director Angelique Bosio will be in attendance as will Nick Zedd for the premiere and panel discussion to follow and can be available for interviews.
Commenting on her acceptance into the Los Angeles Erotica Film Fest Director, Angelique Bosio stated, "It just fit perfectly! At the heart of "LLIK Your Idols" are a few personal as well as artistic issues, which fascinate me. One of them is how eroticism and violence intermingle in such peculiar ways. In the chaotic process of making the film, it remained an important key. That is why I was touched and honored when the Erotica Film Fest contacted me to do a screening as a premiere, for this festival itself aims at questioning eroticism and sexuality in films."

LLIK Your Idols, produced by Kidam and directed by Angélique Bosio, is a 69-minute documentary that depicts the explosive scene in New York during the eighties, and celebrates with cynicism the changes in that unique city under Reagan and Bush senior. Under the banners of Cinema of Transgression and No Wave (Sonic Youth, the Swans, Lydia Lunch, the Butthole Surfers, Foetus), a bunch of "insolent kids" (including Richard Kern, Lydia Lunch, Joe Coleman and Nick Zedd) briefly become the new anti-heroes. Scornful and flippant, their films and music violently attack conformity they see all around them, highlighting an erotically-charged and sardonic movement. LLIK Your Idols is a non-nostalgic examination of characters that have since become established artists.
