Controversial Store Opens For Business

(CINCINNATI, OH) -- Shop Compared To The Hustler Store. A controversial store has opened in a Cincinnati neighborhood.
Elyse's Passion opened for business Tuesday afternoon and it's being compared to Larry Flynt's Hustler store.
The owner sells a variety of items, including X-rated videos and sex toys.
Elyse Metcalf says that a majority of her merchandise is not sexually oriented.
But her Over-The-Rhine business is located just three doors down from a Cincinnati public school.
Some of the 900 kids who attend the School For Creative And Performing Arts told WLWT Eyewitness News 5 that they don't want the shop next door.
Metcalf says that she sells books, candles and clothes, and therefore it is legal for her shop to open, no matter the location.
Cincinnati does have a law that forbids sexually oriented business to open within 1,000 feet of a church or school.
Metcalf says that is why she has carefully chosen her merchandise, to comply with the law.
