Venus Canceled

(BERLIN, GERMANY) -- Venus Berlin GmbH, organiser of the Venus Exhibitions in Berlin and Paris, has announced that the 2. Venus Paris from 20 - 22 April 2007 in the Le Bourget Exhibition Grounds near Paris will not be taking place.
While the 1.Venus Paris in 2006 was largely a success (apart from a few "small" glitches), we approached the 2.Venus Paris with a great deal of enthusiasm. Outstanding problems were solved and we had every intention of staging the 2.Venus Paris with the support of our strong partners.
However, many exhibitors have meanwhile informed us that they are unable to exhibit at additional exhibitions such as in Paris on account of the current economic situation. And it goes without saying that an exhibition without the corresponding exhibitors makes little or no sense at all.
Add to this the fact that for us in our capacity as organiser, business relationships with firms in Paris were not exactly easy to establish and we were billed a lot of money for poor service. From an expensive power connection through to overpriced invoices from service-providers, our objectives were not exactly met with a positive or cooperative reaction. Unfortunately, we did not have any alternatives as they were required by certain guidelines and laws.
The decision not to stage the 2.Venus Paris is not one which we made lightly as development of an exhibition such as the Venus Paris not only demands a lot of work and commitment, it also costs a lot of money to create basic structures for future exhibitions.
We are however of the opinion that we are also a part of the erotic sector and our primary objective is the satisfaction of exhibitors at and visitors to our exhibitions. We therefore hope you understand that we will not be staging the 2.Venus Paris under the prevailing conditions.
We would like to thank all of the exhibitors who have already registered for the Venus Paris and hope they can understand our reasons for canceling the event.
We look forward to the 11.Venus Berlin from 18 - 21 October 2007.
