Lara Roxx tested positive for HIV in April of 2004 only two weeks after she performed her first sex scene in L.A. The controversy surrounding her infection continues to raise questions about the ethics of the porn industry.
The movie "Inside Lara Roxx", directed by Mia Donovan is currently in production.
Two years after her porn career ground to a halt in a highly publicized HIV porn industry scandal, the reclusive Lara Roxx has decided to step back into the spotlight. The depression and anger that once crippled Roxx now fuels her ambition to speak out about the dangers of compromising safe sex for money or pleasure. Inside Lara Roxx is a no holds barred documentary that follows the life of the young woman who was awarded ‘fifteen minutes of fame’ for being the first of several women adult performers to test positive for HIV during the 2004 industry outbreak.
Today, Lara Roxx wants to use her notoriety to advocate for HIV/AIDS public awareness and education in schools. She has also started a foundation to help teenagers and young adults with HIV called the Lara Roxx Foundation.
