Fighting Internet Copyright Piracy, - BayTSP Plunges Through - 10,000 Infringements Found
Source: BayTSP.com
by: Company Press Release

(SAN JOSE, CA) -- BayTSP.com, an Internet security firm, shattered its initial goal of finding 10,000 copyright infringements, after only three months of spidering the Internet. Since June, when the spiders began scouring the Internet for illegally redistributed copyrighted content, nearly 13,000 infringements have been found and removed from various news groups and web sites.

"These results only underscore what BayTSP has known for quite some time: This technology is effective, and copyright pirates should be quivering with fear," remarked Mark Ishikawa, the company's co-founder and CEO. "We wanted to announce our 10,000th infringement, but we lost the chance because we literally blew through that mark."

BayTSP, whose patent-pending technology extracts the electronic DNA- equivalent to the DNA in a human- from any file, then spiders the Web to search for matches, was developed to fight the ongoing problem of copyright piracy on the Internet. BayTSP's technology can identify any type of illegally used copyrighted material- photographs, MP3 files, audio, video- and its fleet of spiders scan the Internet on a 24-hour, 7-day a week basis and identify web sites and news groups hosting illegally posted copyrighted content. BayTSP's highly unique services don't stop at just tracking the content. Once the spiders have tracked down the stolen content the company automatically issues infringement notices to both the infringer and the infringer's ISP.

Of the over 12,000 infringements that have been found, the company has recorded 100% compliance, and the infringed material has been summarily taken down, by either the infringer or the ISP (which, under the DMCA, is jointly liable). Clients of BayTSP are excited about the technology that has helped them counteract the rampant theft of their original content. Humphry Knipe, of Suze Randall Photography, commented, "One of the major hindrances to the future growth of the Internet will be copyright theft, because content creators and owners will be hesitant about releasing material that most users consider free to reproduce, and use as they like- we feel confident now about increasing our presence on the Internet because we have a bloodhound (BayTSP) that will sniff out infringers."
