Ritz-Carlton Discriminates Against 'Porno' Industry
Source: Temptation News
by: Company Press Release

(LOS ANGELES, CA) -- The Ritz-Carlton, Huntington Hotel & Spa cancelled their contract with Canadian adult news outlet Temptation News, to host the Temptation Awards, an adult industry, black-tie affair. An official document from Jill R. Hilts, Director of catering and sales for the Ritz-Carlton Pasadena gave reason for the cancellation stating, "This is an awards ceremony that celebrates the 'porno' industry, and the Ritz-Carlton does not," and further stated, "We cannot have 'porno' stars in our hotel."

Ms. Hilts openly discriminating against an entire profession as she continued her assault on the adult industry in her letter saying, "You intend to use the Hotel facilities for a pornographic video awards ceremony. We cannot permit activities at the Hotel that our employees and many of our guests will find highly offensive. Your awards ceremony falls squarely within this classification."

Temptation News CEO and founder, George Whitty created the Temptation Awards to celebrate the adult industry with an elegant and glamorous event. Commenting on the turn of events George says, "The Ritz-Carlton stepped in last minute, providing their facilities as the venue after a contractual disagreement with the Beverly Hilton. The Ritz openly embraced the opportunity to accommodate the Temptation Awards, when they executed the contract. Twenty-four hours later they canceled and reneged on their signed contract based solely on the professions of those attending. Discrimination of any sort is detestable, but to openly discriminate against ones legally acceptable professional is appalling."

The Temptation Awards is not cancelled. George Whitty is determined to continue confirming, "I will not let discrimination triumph over the celebration of a person's legal right to the profession of their choice. We have an alternate venue. The Westin Bonaventure has graciously offered their hotel and services."

Temptation Awards red carpet rolls out at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 29th, in downtown Los Angeles, California. The elegant black-tie awards will proceed as planned in the luxurious new venue.
